Day 2 Wrap: Women’s Region Sides

Brisk conditions greeted players for day two of the Women’s Region Sides Championship at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club.

The sun was out and the wind was up as 16 regions went head-to-head in the biggest day of the competition.

Play got underway early and after four games were run and won, it was the Northern Gateway who came out on top in Section A with 15 points, followed by Bendigo Campaspe on 10 points and Murray Mallee on 7 points. While in Section B, Ovens & Murray and Sandbelt ended the day tied on 12 points followed by Yarra on 9.

Round six will commence at 8:30 AM on Sunday, followed by round seven at 10:40 AM, with the day culminating in the grand final at approximately 1:30 PM

The 2019 Women’s Region Sides will run from March 29-31 at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club and proudly supported by Steller, Swan Hill Rural City Council and Murray Downs Golf and Country Club. The men’s section of the event will be played at Traralgon Bowls Club next week.
