With many excellent performances and results throughout the season, the selection process was a difficult one. Players were selected based on performance, commitment, attitude, compatibility and the ability to step up when it matters most at Interstate level.
“The talent pool we have to select from and narrow down to five was challenging but exciting due to the depth in the U18 ranks which holds us in good stead for post Nationals and beyond,” said Victorian U18 Coach, Matt Flapper.
“There will be disappointed players. There will be players that missed out on selection that have performed well throughout the previous 12-months in Test Series’ against South Australia and Tasmania, championship week and Individual tournaments, but unfortunately we can’t select everyone,” Flapper added.
The 2018 Australian Under-18 Championship will be held at the Capalaba Sports Club in Queensland, from the 3rd – 5th October. The team will head to a National Training day on Sunday 16th September ahead of the tournament.
