Victorian Junior Bowls Classic

The future of Victorian bowls is in safe hands if the Sportscover Victorian Junior Bowls Classic held at Churchill-Waverley Bowls Club is any indication. Thirty-six Under 18 bowlers competed – the youngest aged just 10 – in an event becoming an important part of the fast-growing Victorian junior bowls calendar. Play was nine ends of Two Bowl Triples, with a short, sharp five-end final. Several matches, including the final, were live-streamed, and you can watch replays of all those matches by clicking below.

Your turn to be Pennant selector

Pennant selector. No job in bowls creates more controversy within a club, or is more thankless.

With Pennant finals coming up statewide, The Lawman asks YOU to play selector.

Could your club do with $10,000 in funding?

Bowls Victoria’s funding partner VicHealth has just opened a new round of Active Club Grants, aimed at boosting female participation, and social and modified bowls programs.

Your club has the chance to benefit from $3,000 and $10,000 grants.

Bowls legend plays 700th Pennant match

Legend is an often overused word.

Not for Bendigo East Bowling Club’s Ken Gloster – a bowler, administrator, and all-round good guy who’s provided superb service to the sport.

The Bendigo Advertiser has done an outstanding series of stories and a video piece on Ken’s 700th Pennant match milestone, and his life spent in bowls. It’s well worth a look.
