2017 Vic Open to be televised live

by Team BV

The 2017 Vic Open finals will be televised live from Shepparton.

Thanks to Bowls Victoria and broadcast partner My Sport Live, the final two days of the Vic Open on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24, will be live-streamed via Bowls Victoria’s website www.bowlsvic.org.au and My Sport Live’s website www.mysportlive.tv

Both singles finals will be featured, along with several other finals and semi-finals from Victoria’s biggest bowls event.

The decision follows a successful first year of live-streaming the event in 2016 with My Sport Live.

“We’re thrilled to work with My Sport Live again to bring those who love our sport a chance to watch it wherever they are, whatever they’re doing, on whatever device they wish,” Bowls Victoria Communications and Marketing Manager Guy Hand said.

“We were blown away by the success of live-streaming the event for the first time last year. More than 22,000 unique visitors watched the event live from all around the world, and another 100,000 more have watched it after the event on our website and YouTube channel.

“Our competitors, members and clubs all wanted us to bring them live-streaming coverage of the Vic Open again in 2017, and we’re really happy to be able to do so.”

With more than 1,500 entries expected and some of Australia’s best bowlers confirmed to play, the tournament will be bigger than ever in 2017.

My Sport Live Managing Director Andrew Weiss said he was delighted to continue the partnership between MSL and Bowls Victoria, and is very much looking forward to the 2017 event.

“We are so excited to be streaming the Victorian Open for the second year in succession, and are very proud of the relationship and partnership that we have developed with Bowls Victoria,” he said.

“Last year the event broadcast had a fantastic response from both the Bowls community and the sporting community in general, and it was a reflection of the hard work, commitment and dedication of the BV staff to make this happen.

“So we are really looking forward to bringing all the action from the event live to your mobile, tablet, computer or smart TV, and can hopefully bring you even more bowls action in the future!”

There’s still time for bowlers to enter the 2017 Vic Open, which runs from November 18 to 24..
