Luther College cleans up at EISM titles

Luther College has won both Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM) competitions held at Croydon Bowling Club.
Twenty teams competed in the annual events, which have increased from year to year on the back of the efforts from Bowls Victoria Under 18 Committee Member Laurie Browell.
Luther College, along with Mount Lilydale Mercy College, Aquinas College and Billanook College, participated in 2017, with both Luther College teams making it through to the final day.
In both competitions, it came down to the final bowl, with dancing and cheering the result of drawing the closest bowl on the final end.
The EISM has been a great supporter of Bowls for a number of years, and through the developed Bowls Victoria pathway, these students now have avenues to continue their bowls on the back of this 10-week program.
Under 18 Committee Member and Eastern Eagles Development Squad Coordinator Browell was ecstatic with how the event went.
“It’s great to show the game of bowls to new schools and have an avenue for both our Clubs and Junior Squads to find new bowlers.”
The two teams from Luther College will now be invited to compete as part of the brand-new Bowls Victoria Schools Super Series on November 25, which will involve all school champions from each School Association.
