Carla wins Golden Nugget
There’s no stopping Australia’s new No.1 women’s bowler Carla Krizanic.
The Victorian world champion has added the 2017 Golden Nugget women’s title to her trophy cabinet – beating Australian Open champion Ellen Ryan 25-17 in the final at Tweed Heads Bowls Club.
After finishing second in her section, Krizanic beat West Australian Kristina Krstic 25-20 in a tough semi, before going on to defeat Ryan in the final.
It caps off a huge few weeks for Krizanic, who recently claimed the national No.1 women’s ranking for the 2016-17 season after dual 2016 World Championship success in Christchurch last November.
Recently departed Victorian Aaron Wilson (now Cabramatta, NSW) made the semi-finals of the men’s Nugget, losing to eventual champion Aron Sherriff 25-16.
