Wallan Bowling Club opens new green

by Team BV

The Victorian Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Fund has helped another Bowls Victoria club upgrade its facilities – this time Wallan Bowling Club.

Wallan’s new synthetic green replaced one of the club’s former grass greens, allowing the club to play all year round.

At its recent opening, Bowls Victoria President Barbara Gilbert was among the guest list, which included Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes, Member for Yan Yean Danielle Green and Mitchell Shire councillors Mayor Rhonda Sanderson, Cr Bob Cornish and Cr Rob Eldridge.

The upgrade was made possible by a $100,000 grant from the State Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, which is helping communities all over Victoria update their facilities.

Moe Bowling Club is also a recent beneficiary of this funding, receiving $100,000 to build its own synthetic green.
