Moe Bowling Club will receive $100,000 funding from the Victorian Government for a new all-weather synthetic green.
In a huge boost for bowls in the Gippsland region, Minister for Sport John Eren and Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing announced the funding boost as part of a huge funding package for sport in the Latrobe Valley.
“We promised them and we are now delivering $100,000 to build an all-weather synthetic grass bowling green for the Moe Bowling Club,” Mr Eren said.
“We know the grass greens in Moe have been struggling recently, so this new weather proof green will give even more locals the opportunity to have a roll and get active.
“It will be more durable, easy to maintain and doesn’t require watering – so the club is doing its bit for the environment while keeping up with the demand for year-round bowls.”
Ms Shing added: “Moe Bowling Club members will have a true and reliable green they can be proud of and use all year round – rain, hail or shine.”
The Labor Government is delivering the new green through the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
