Ovens & Murray wins Vic Shield
Kylie Whitehead’s three gold medals and a Day 6 win to the women’s pairs team has helped Ovens & Murray seal back-to-back wins in the Vic Shield for the best-performed region at State Champions Week.
Ovens & Murray virtually wrapped up the 2017 Shield with the win to Kerri Leask and Mary Tragardh in the women’s pairs final on the penultimate day of competition.
But Wodonga bowler Whitehead’s wins in the women’s State singles and women’s fours with Anne Miles, Shirley Hummel and Claire Sanders, helped her region to overall victory.
Whitehead also won the Under 25 State Singles final at Champions Week.
Ovens & Murray also won the 2016 Vic Shield.
Bowls Victoria also ran a raffle during State Champions Week. The winners were:
