These officials are the cream of the crop.
Our 30 officials at State Champions Week in Bendigo come from all around the State and show the clear pathway that exists in bowls officiating in Victoria.
“Becoming an umpire offers the opportunity to officiate past club level, and be able to officiate at regional and State events like this one,” Bowls Victoria Umpiring Committee Chairman John Roberts says.
“Every year there’s a whole group within our officials who’ve never done a State Champions Week before.”
Among the 30 officials are 10 International Technical Officials, and several umpires who will officiate at next year’s Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
As well as Victoria’s best of the best players taking part at State Champions Week, the same can be said of our officials.
