Queensland arm bowlers take on all comers

Bowlers from the Gold Coast-Tweed District in Queensland recently contested a Super Fives event at Cudgen Leagues BC with their Zone One NSW counterparts in under 25s, Open 30-59, Over 60’s and also Bowlers Arm.
“This is a great concept and a further breakout recognition of the important role Arm Bowling is playing in our sport,” according to Phil Gude, Bowls Victoria State Arm Coordinator.
“We fielded a team of Arm players in last year’s Super Sixes run at Mulgrave Country Club by Bowls Vic against all comers and performed well in open company.
“I hope these kinds of developments can grow over time as it further demonstrates the all-inclusive nature of the sport of bowls.”
Queensland Arm bowlers won pairs and drew the triples in the morning and won the fours but lost the singles after lunch.

A third round of mixed pairs and triples was played in the afternoon. Gold Coast Tweed District were the overall winners.
