2016 APS Bowls Championship
Haileybury has won the inaugural Associated Public Schools Victoria (APS) Bowls Championship at MCC Kew Sports Club.
After dropping their round three fixture to Caulfield Grammar, Haileybury faced them again in the Grand Final, and this time won six shots to three.
The 2016 APS Bowls Championship had representation from four schools in the APS (Haileybury, Caulfield Grammar, St Kevin’s College and Scotch College) all of who compete in our yearly Schools Challenge competition at North Balwyn and Burwood District Bowling Clubs.
The Championship was decided over three rounds of competition and a round of finals – with each team winning at least a game and only shot difference separating the top two teams!

Some impressive shots were played throughout the group stage matches and each school took that momentum into each of their final matches, which were played at a very high standard.
Finals:

Grand Final: Haileybury College (6) defeated Caulfield Grammar (3)
Bowls Victoria would like to thank MCC Kew Sports Club for hosting the event and the APS for their assistance in making the event happen. Additionally, a big thank you to the four schools for entering their teams after a washout halted the first event from taking place in late October.
We look forward to future APS schools events and having more schools involved in the APS Bowls Championship in 2017.
