2016 Finley RS Bowlers Arm Tussle
Twelve teams made up of players from Mordialloc, Kyabram, Shepparton Park, Whittlesea, Barwon Heads, Deniliquin RSL, Finley BC, Oaklands, Finley RS, Barooga, Cobram & Picola take to the greens for the 2016 Finley RS BC’s Bowlers Arm Tussle.
Format this year was three bowl pairs played over two games of eight ends before lunch and one game of 10 ends after.
Sunny skies, light winds & beautifully prepared 15-16 second greens greeted the bowlers as they began the battle for the honour of being this year’s Bowlers Arm champs.
Going into lunch of soup and sandwiches prepared by the organisers, there were four teams with two games up who went out after lunch hoping for that elusive third game.
Congratulations go to our winners for 2016 representing Deniliquin RSL BC – Brian Clancy (s) & Peg Dankhert who chalked up 3 wins – 49 points from runners-up Allan Walter (s) & Kerry Ralph (Barwon Heads) on 3 wins – 47 points.
These two teams have travelled to Finley RS since the first Tussle event three years ago and have finally made a podium finish – much to their delight.
Third place went to Christopher Preddy (s) & Robert Anset from Kyabram with 2 wins, a draw – 40 points.
The encouragement award went to Ken Taggart (s) Maryborough Highlands & Jim Maxwell (Finley BC).

Finley RS BC will again be holding the Bowlers Arm Tussle on the last Sunday of August 2017, so all you arm bowlers out there mark the date in your calendars, come up, join in, enjoy our great greens, weather and hospitality.
