Aaron Wilson becomes World Under 25 Champion
It will be the happiest of homecomings for Aaron Wilson, who will return to Bendigo for 2016 State Champions Week as a world champion.
Victoria’s Wilson has won the World Junior Men’s Singles title at the Gold Coast, beating fellow Australian Sean Ingham 21-12 in the final for the world’s best under 25 bowlers at Broadbeach Bowls Club.
Wilson is scheduled to take part in the men’s fours on the opening day of State Champions Week at Bendigo East Bowling Club in his home town, as well as the men’s singles later in the tournament in which 15 State titles will be decided.
In a great day for Aussie bowls, NSW bowler Ellen Ryan also won two gold medals at the World Juniors, including the mixed pairs alongside Aussie Aaron Teys.
