Under 25 State singles finalists decided
Fitzroy Victoria’s Tiffany Brodie has given herself the opportunity to win back-to-back Under 25 State singles titles after securing her spot in the 2016 final.
Brodie will take on fellow State player Kylie Whitehead (Wodonga) in the women’s final after the pair emerged through the sectionals and knockout rounds held at Belmont Bowling Club in Geelong.
Brodie beat Elisa Rigoni to make the final, while Whitehead beat 2015 Victorian Open Vic Medallist Lisa Phillips 25-16 in their semi.
In an unusual feat, Mentone clubmates Lachlan Jolly and Brad Foote will square off against each other in the men’s Under 25 singles final.
The Mentone Edge duo won their way into a showdown through a quality field – Jolly beating Matthew O’Brien 25-21 to make the final and Foote seeing off Matthew Higgins 25-17.
Both men’s and women’s Under 25 State singles finals will be held as part of State Champions Week from April 16 to 22 at Bendigo East Bowling Club.
