Potential Membership Target Groups
The endeavour of all clubs to continuously build on membership requires the bowls community to be creative, resourceful and inclusive in their actions. Last year Victoria took a major step in achieving part of this objective by successfully introducing 23 Regional based Junior Development Squads. However, if we wish to continue to improve and increase on the number of participants that currently play bowls we need to look at adopting a more direct and specific approach for each generational segment.
On the Potential Membership Target Groups page, you will find a brief marketing analysis of Baby Boomers, Generation Y and Generation X.

Member Protection
Member protection involves protecting members from harassment, abuse, discrimination and other forms of inappropriate behaviour.
The RVBA & VLBA have a joint Member Protection Policy (click here to download) which provides guidelines for the protection of the health, safety and well being of all VLBA and RVBA members and those who participate in the activities of the RVBA and VLBA, Member Associations and Affiliated Clubs.
The RVBA and VLBA have three Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO). They are trained to be the first point of contact within the organisation for any person considering making a complaint under the Member Protection Policy. MPIO's provide confidential, impartial and timely information and support. They act as a sounding board and provide information about complaint resolution options available to address individuals' concerns. MPIO's do not advocate, take sides, give advice, investigate, intervene or breach confidentiality. To speak with an MPIO, phone (03) 9819 0757.
The RVBA and VLBA recommend that clubs adopt a Member Protection Policy. This not only ensures that the club's position in relation to harassment, abuse and discrimination is clearly stated but also lays out exactly how complaints under the policy will be handled and by whom. Inclusive Bowls
The Victorian Development Team works with numerous organisations and partners to deliver programs and initiatives for the benefit of the sport in Victoria.
Bowls in one of the most inclusive sports around. People in wheelchairs, with visual impairment, hearing disorders, other intellectual or physical disabilities, from a multicultural background or other areas can all play the game alongside 'regular' bowlers with little or no modifications to the game itself.
For more details on the organisations we work with to promote inclusive Bowls, visit the Partners page.
Equipment Rental
Bowls equipment is available for clubs to borrow. Equipment includes bowls, indoor bowls mats, barriers and more.
Need to jazz up your next open day or club event? Six banners (pictured right) are available for borrowing should you have the need for professional signage, but don't have the resources to get it done yourself.
Contact the Development Team on (03) 9819 0757 or projectofficer@bowlsvic.org.au for more information on either of these.
