The Australian Open is the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest and most lucrative bowls event.

A multi-discipline tournament, the Australian Open features singles, pairs and triples for both men and women, as well as a festival of bowls which incorporates specific age group and bowlers with a disability divisions. 

Since the inaugural event in 2005, the Australian Open has attracted the games biggest names including Australian stars Kelsey Cottrell, Karen Murphy and Leif Selby, not to mention international raiders Gary Lawson (NZ), Ryan Bester (Canada), Safuan Said (Malaysia), Greg Harlow (England) and Jeremy Henry (Ireland).

With a six figure prize purse up for grabs, the event will again be staged at the Darebin International Sports Centre, the host venue from 2006 to 2008, 2011 and 2012.
