Seeking Bowls Director

Middle Park Bowling Club is seeking a Bowls Director to join our proactive team. The Bowls Director will be responsible for facilitating bowls events at the Club and will report to the Bowls Committee.

  • Approx. 16 hours per week. This will be flexible depending on variable workload during the year.
  • Salary $25,000 per year

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinating high-profile bowling tournament(s) during the year, including the existing Marston/Vance Classic Fours Tournament
  • Coordinating weekly social bowls events
  • Liaising with the Bowls Committee to develop the strategic direction of bowls within the Club and the local community
  • Liaising with the Head Greenkeeper and Club Manager to ensure the smooth operation of all planned bowling activities
  • Implementing strategies to ensure smooth operation of Club Championships
  • Developing the Club’s program of bowls events annually
  • Implementing strategies to attract, develop and retain new bowlers
  • Any other activity that may be required from time to time at the direction of management.
  • Assisting the Club Manager and their team as required during the peak barefoot bowls season (Nov-Jan)

Criteria for the successful applicant:

  • Proactive, high-energy individual who is passionate about bowls
  • Computer literate – experienced in MS office, social media and website tools
  • Good communication skills – both verbally and in writing
  • Conduct their duties across a rotating roster including regular evening and weekend work
  • A great team player – regularly liaising with the Bowls Committee, Club Manager, Head Greenkeeper and other members of the Club
  • It is important that the Bowls Director plays bowls and represents Middle Park in Saturday (and Tuesday) pennant
  • Working with Children Check
  • Up to date Covid -19 Vaccination

Hours:

  • Approximately 16 hours per week is on offer initially with the opportunity to increase hours in other roles across the Club
  • The Club envisages the role has the capacity to develop into a full-time role
