Wear It Purple a hit at Fitzroy
Bowls Victoria and Proud 2 Play joined up this month to support the LGBTQIA community for a Wear It Purple Day for families at Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club. Bowls Victoria and Proud 2 Play joined up this month to support the LGBTQIA community for a Wear It Purple Day for families at Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club.
This family-friendly event provided a safe space for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community to bring their friends and loved ones for a fun afternoon of lawn bowls and entertainment.
The day included special guest speakers, lawn bowls, coaching from club members, a BBQ lunch and live music.
Proud 2 Play deliver education to sporting associations and create participation opportunities in order to create safe and inclusive environments so that LGBTI+ young people can play a sport.
Regardless of age, gender, cultural background or ability, Bowls is a sport for all. Bowls Victoria is proud to support inclusive sport and encourages all club to be pro-active when it comes to providing opportunities for all.
