Don’t miss The Bowls Show on SBS

by Team BV

The Bowls Show is on SBS every Sunday at 1pm, and the first episode has a great line-up.
There’s a feature story on Australia’s most capped international representative, Karen Murphy.
There are also coaching tips for newcomers from Murphy, fellow Aussie rep Kelsey Cottrell and current national team coach and playing great Steve Glasson, explaining things like the basics of bowls, how to choose the correct bowl, and how to stand on the mat.
And the Melbourne Roys feature in playing action, with highlights of their Australian Premier League elimination final against the Gold Coast Hawks.
If you can’t watch the program live on a Sunday afternoon, The Bowls Show will also be shown on the network’s catch-up service, SBS On Demand.
The Bowls Show is hosted by Jack Heverin, who was initially the voice of bowls through anchoring the nationally syndicated weekly radio program Without Bias.
Heverin also fronted the coverage of last year’s Australian Premier League broadcast on Fox Sports.
Under the new deal between Bowls Australia and SBS, The Bowls Show will regularly feature some of the biggest names in the sport, including Glasson, Murphy, Cottrell, Kelvin Kerkow, Mark Casey and Victoria’s own Australian representative Barrie Lester.
Regular segments on coaching, development, officiating, high performance and social bowls will be incorporated in the program and will provide a point of difference to the traditional event-only coverage shown in past broadcasts.
